Jewbie’s journey began in Kentucky, where he hitched a ride to a better life through Starfish Animal Rescue’s Spay It Forward program. For every litter rescued, their mama gets spayed for free — a win-win that gave this scruffy pup his shot at a forever home. Originally meant to be a temporary guest, Jewbie quickly worked his way into permanent residency — a classic foster fail with zero regrets.

This quirky, wire-haired mystery mix is part terrier, part stand-up comedian, and 100% rescued. He’s the kind of dog who talks back when you ask him a question, has a solid opinion on neighborhood squirrels, and never misses a chance for a bark chat with the dog next door. Yes, he still gets car sick and needs a little help to stay calm during vet visits — but don’t we all have our quirks?

Jewbie may be what some call a “special needs” pup, but what he really is... is special. Overlooked by some, chosen by one — and that’s all it took. He’s now the heart of the home, the official greeter for every new foster, and a gentle friend to both dogs and cats alike.
