A little about me...Winnie, a scrappy blue heeler with bright, intelligent eyes, had spent her early life wandering from shelter to shelter. She was quick, eager, and bursting with energy, but no one seemed ready for a dog who needed more than just a couch to nap on.
One crisp autumn morning, a woman named Trish visited the rescue. Winnie pressed her nose through the kennel bars, tail wagging in a blur. When Trish threw a tennis ball into the play yard, Winnie bolted after it like lightning, returning with a triumphant grin. That was all it took—Trish knew she’d found her match.
In her new forever home, Winnie’s days transformed. She raced across open fields, chasing balls until the sun dipped low, her paws kicking up dirt and joy in equal measure. Fetch became her favorite game, but the real magic was the bond she’d built with Trish—one of trust, laughter, and unconditional love.
Every night, Winnie curled at Trish’s feet, dreaming of tomorrow’s runs, knowing she was finally home.
Now without AI:
Winnie (2 years old) is the second rescue "Bluey" in our family and if you know anything about this breed, they have endless amounts of energy and are incredibly smart and loyal to their owners. Winnie does go on hour long runs a few times a week and could play catch until your arm falls off. She hopes to follow in her older sister's (Madi) paw steps and be a therapy dog some day!
