A little about me...Hadley’s story is one of courage, resilience, and the healing power of love. This beautiful 1-year-old Cane Corso came to Wags through a neighbor who had watched her suffer for far too long—left outside, neglected, and treated unkindly. When Hadley arrived, she didn’t know how to trust. She growled. She barked. She showed her teeth—not because she was mean, but because she was scared. It was the only way she knew to protect herself.
But we saw through it. And more importantly, we waited. We sat quietly by her kennel. We didn’t rush. We didn’t force. We offered her treats and space. And slowly, Hadley began to open up.
The transformation has brought tears to our eyes. This once-fearful girl now rolls over for belly rubs. She leans into volunteers for affection. She clumsily chases after balls (catch isn’t her strong suit, but she sure tries!). Hadley has discovered that people can be kind—and she’s loving every moment of this new life. Hadley has been around young children who have respected her boundaries, and she loved every second of it.
At around 65 pounds with a striking brindle coat, Hadley is as gorgeous on the outside as she is gentle on the inside. She’s still learning, still growing, and still figuring out what it means to just be a dog—but she’s ready to find the right home to do that in.
We’re looking for someone special. Someone patient. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not expected. Hadley has already come so far, and with the right family, she’ll continue to bloom.
Watching Hadley’s journey reminds us why we do what we do. And now it’s time for her next chapter.
Are you the one who’ll write it with her?
