Your Pet's Story or Bio
Dexter is a very affectionate and playful four pound Chihuahua with an immeasurable will to survive. His estimated age is 10-12 years old and given his very poor health and malnourished state when recued, it's believed he spent several weeks surviving the streets of Los Angeles. He spent time in foster homes before he was introduced to me by my sister Martha (very active with animal rescues) during a visit with family in CA. Dexter moved to Alexandria, VA this past September. He has since endured arthritic pain, allergies, several sinus infections due to poor dental health, the administration of wrong sedating medications during a teeth cleaning and blindness. He has visited with his previous foster parents in LA and they are amazed at how much better he looks than a year ago. Dexter is my hero and one of the biggest joys of my day.
