Athena was adopted from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria on August 16, 2015 - the day after #Cleartheshelters event. She was the only dog not adopted on that day and was AWLA's longest resident. It was heartbreaking to see her left behind. However, the best truly was saved for last and Athena was adopted the next day!
