Your Pet's Story or Bio
This is Lucky Abigail, who was adopted from the Tallahassee, Florida, animal shelter’s Sick Cat Ward on April 11, 2002. A scrawny 9-month-old kitten with a sniffly head cold, she stole our hearts instantly, and in her first few weeks with us she taught us everything we – first-time pet parents – needed to know about being owned by a cat.

Thirteen years later, Lucky is still going strong and is as much of a kitten as she was when she first came home to live with us. Now a resident of Alexandria, Va., she spends much of her day lounging in the nearest sunbeam and calling through the window to the birds at the feeders outside. She loves shrimp treats, midnight cuddles, and the occasional catnip cigar. And we love her to the ends of the Earth.
