We adopted Cocoa, a chihuahua/min pin mix, 12 years ago. She was about to be euthanized at a Manhattan shelter and a friend saved her with her rescue friends. Cocoa was about 13 months old at the time. She had already given birth to a litter and was tossed away after. We adopted her and she has been nothing but joy for our family. Cocoa loves to snuggle and give kisses. She greets family and friends with out loud meeping and crying out for joy. She loves dancing for treats. She is a loving companion always. She recently went on a family retirement road trip across 15 states for 4 weeks and was a blessing. After reflecting on our loving relationship with this adorable family member, we ask “who really rescued who?”
