I found Jack while visiting the island of Dominica on a cruise. He was a stray sitting in the middle of the sidewalk covered in fleas. I bent down to pet him and he burrowed his head into my arms. I gave him some much needed attention, then my friend and I said goodbye and he began to follow us. He was breaking my heart so we found a local to bring us to a vet to see what my options were because I knew if I left him I'd never stop thinking about him. The vet was in disbelief that I wanted to get him back to Chicago but she agreed to board him for the 3o days he needed to be quarantined while I'd arrange for transportation. It wasn't easy getting him here, but he made it, and we couldn't possibly be more in love with him.
