We lost our little Choochie to cancer in January 2018. We were devastated for quite some time, but realized we needed a companion for our other cat, Milo. We began looking at the end of February, visiting the shelter, looking at other shelters and rescues online for a Siamese cat. We even went to a cat show. We put down a deposit on a kitten from a breeder, only to have her get sick and die before we could pick her up. Now even sadder than before, we didn’t know what to do and had a hard time getting our deposit back. I was checking the Animal House Shelter website almost daily at this point, when one day, 3 Siamese kittens (she was named Shiva at the shelter) were added and would be available for adoption on the next Saturday. We were so excited! We hoped we would be the first ones called that morning as we waited in the parking lot with the crowd that was waiting to adopt that day. We were called and were able to pick out our new fur baby from the three kittens rescued from Puerto Rico’s Save the Gato. We chose a name for her that was quite fitting – after looking for her for so long we called her Dory. She saved us as much as much we saved her. Meet Dory!
