Our darling Esme (named for the Discworld's Granny Weatherwax with her witchy looks and muddy boots) lied her way into our hearts by being the calmest, most laid back 7 month old puppy imaginable when we met her at AHNM more than 7 years ago. Since then trainers at The Center described her play style as "uncertain," our vet says we're doing our first pet "on hard mode," and all of our neighbors know her as "you need to be more polite, that's why you can't make friends!" We've never met a smarter, more emotive, more complex animal, and we couldn't be more grateful that she chose to be part of our family.
