Pet Story or Bio
We met Amber at Animal Humane in July 2013. We immediately hit it off as she went on her back and wanted belly rubs. She was about a year old and had been neglected by whoever was her prior family or breeder so she never had even had a bed, a collar, or toys. We couldn't leave her alone in the house for the 1st year as she had such separation anxiety. The staff at AHNM named her "Smiley" but we named her Amber as that is one of my favorite rocks and we are rockhounds. We also refer to her as Anubis, the Egyptian Sun Goddess and this is how she loves to sit in the sun in our backyard. We've enjoyed many years hiking and camping with her and hope to have many more.
