Rules

The Animal Welfare League 2015 Photo Contest (the "Promotion") is sponsored by the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County Florida Inc. (AWL)

Promotion Period: The Promotion period is from 12:01 AM (all times Eastern Time) on September 13, 2015 to 11:59 p.m. on October 17, 2015 (the "Promotion Period"). All entries must be received before the expiration of the Promotion Period to be eligible to win a prize.

How to Enter: You may enter the Promotion online by following the link on the AWL website: www.awlshelter.org, or go to gogophotocontest.com and select the "AWL 2015 Photo Contest". Then complete the online entry form, pay a $5.00 entrance fee using a credit or debit card, and submit one photograph in JPEG format during the Promotion Period. Entrants may submit multiple photographs, but each photograph must be entered independently at a cost of $5.00 per photo.

Rules: The submitted photograph must (a) be of a dog or cat, either a portrait or in a family setting, (b) be suitable for family viewing (as determined by the AWL). The pet does not need to be owned by the entrant, but the entrant must have the pet owner's signed consent to submit the photograph of the pet in the Promotion. The photograph may be in black and white or color, at the entrant's option. Photographs that have been manipulated using a computer program or other method will not be accepted.

Winner Selection: Winning photographs will be determined by the number of votes each photograph receives during the Promotion period in the dog and cat categories.

Prizes: Winners will be based on the number of votes cast for each photo; the cat and dog photos with the most votes wins the grand prize with a retail value of $250.00 in cat and dog products.

General Terms and Conditions: You hereby represent and warrant that (a) you have the rights and permissions to use and submit your photograph in connection with the Promotion and to provide all the rights specified in these official rules; and (b) your Photograph and the use thereof as contemplated herein does not and will not violate, misappropriate, or infringe upon any law or regulation or the rights of any third party, including without limitation any copyright, trademark, or any rights of publicity or privacy, or any other intellectual property or proprietary rights.

By submitting a photograph in the Promotion, you hereby grant to Sponsor (and Sponsor's licensees and assigns) a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, nonexclusive license to publish, reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt, edit, modify, translate, create derivative works based upon, and otherwise use and sublicense your photograph, or any portion thereof (including without limitation any names, likenesses, or personas shown in the photograph), in connection with the

Promotion and for any other purpose (including without limitation for entertainment, instruction/education, advertising, marketing, promotional and/or publicity purposes), and to incorporate your photograph into other works in any manner, form, media or technology now known or later developed. Sponsor will have no obligation to publish or use or retain any photograph. You agree that it is your sole responsibility to obtain all permissions and releases necessary for the grant of the rights contained in this paragraph. You also agree to take, at Sponsor's expense, any further action (including, without limitation, execution of affidavits, licenses, and other documents) reasonably requested by Sponsor to effect, perfect, or confirm Sponsor's rights set forth above in this paragraph. You will not be entitled to compensation for any use by Sponsor, or its agents, licensees or assignees, of your photograph.

Promotion is open only to legal residents of the United States and is territories over the age of 18.

Directors, managers, and employees of the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County Florida Inc. are not eligible to enter the Promotion.

Photos entered in the Promotion may be used by the AWL for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation. As a condition of being awarded a prize, potential winners may be required to confirm permission to use the photo in writing and execute and deliver a written affidavit of eligibility, acceptance of these Official Rules. In addition, potential winners may be required to obtain the foregoing from any third party with rights in the submitted photograph (such as artwork, trademarks, or a person's likeness) including, without limitation, the owner of the pet in the photograph. Failure to obtain, execute, and deliver any documents required by these official rules may result in the entrant's disqualification in the Promotion and forfeiture of any prizes. By entering, entrants certify that they have complied with these Official Rules and are eligible to win.


Grand Prizes : Grand prize gift package with a minimum value of $250.00 for the dog and cat categories. Second place prize $150.00 package, and third place prize worth $50.00.

Additional Prizes: Each entry will receive a small thank you gift from the Animal Welfare League. Thank you gifts will be available for pick up at the AWL. Additional surprise gifts will be awarded at random each week of the contest. Please watch the shelter's Facebook page & Twitter account, AWL Pets, for prize award announcements during the contest.


All prizes will be available at the Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte Florida Inc. 3519 Drance Street, Port Charlotte, Florida 33980 Phone 941-625-6720. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to claim all prizes at the shelter.
