Sammy is my soul mate. He was adopted by my parents from Hampshire Animal Control, in Paw Paw, WV, near Berkeley Springs, WV, where they live. Sammy got a rough start in life. We're not sure about all the details, but he was kept in a crate (not let out much) and developed a deformity to one of his front paws as a pup. He gets along quite well, but sometimes limps. This dog talks. I have never known a dog that was so expressive and emotive. Whenever he sees me, he starts singing at the top of his lungs. We think he is a Pit Bull/Lab mix. I have two adopted Chihuahuas of my own, but Sammy holds a special place in my heart. I took this photo on one of my visits to my parents home.
