We adopted our first dog, Layla, from the AWLA but lost her due to degenerative myleopathy when she was just shy of 9. Devastated, we knew we had a lot of love left to give and found Rufus at the Washington Humane Society. We have since become advocates for pit bull adoption and educating people on what it does and does not mean to be a "pit bull." Rufus is an excellent ambassador for pits and he even inspired our neighbors to adopt one. He adores sunbathing (thus the picture chosen), loves every person and dog he has ever met, give kisses whether you want them or not and hogs the bed and sofa. He's neurotic as all get out, but we love him all the same.
