Appa (formerly known as Pooh Bear) is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix and named after a friendly flying bison from the cartoon show Avatar.

At first, Appa was shy and sad after generous people adopted his brothers and sisters, but he has since become an outgoing and lovable dog! He is a super sweetheart and greets all visitors by bringing them a gift in the form of a chew toy.

Though he has a number of tricks in his repertoire and has mastered shaking hands, high-fiving (and tenning), and playing dead, he is still known to be very derpy. Many say that he reminds them of Dug from the movie Up!

Appa loves living in Arlington, especially since there are so many great dog parks!
