Hershey is a true survivor! She was found abandoned in an empty apartment before being rescued by AWLA and we have no idea how long the poor girl was left alone to starve, but her fur was very matted and her nails were all worn down. She was under weight and so lethargic when we took her home, but in time with lots of tender loving care, she was nursed back to health. After 6 happy years together and counting, she’s become a real mama’s girl. We take turns grooming each other as chinchillas would do with one another and she gets super excited whenever I wake up or come home from work, ready for grooming and treats. She likes to kick off the walls or come bouncing off her perch and resting her tiny paws on the bars of her “mansion” just to get my attention. Melts my heart every time:)
