Your Pet's Story or Bio
We got Peeta (formerly Pepita) & Dalton as a bonded pair from AWLA on June 29, 2014. They are not related, but were put together to ease their stay in the shelter-- they are now brother and sister. AWLA staff thought it might take time for them to adjust, since they had been out in the wild for a while, so we set them up in the extra bedroom and let them adjust to their new digs. They were fearful at first, but on the 8th day they both came out to check things out. Peeta now enjoys watching birds & squirrels from her window perches. Now our 3, including Toby (“old man” at 16) spend their days hanging together in the same rooms. Peeta has become our resident “Walmart Greeter”. Peeta’s favorites: blue feather boa toy, treats, and chasing the ‘red dot’.
