Oreo first came to the shelter when he was 2 yrs old. I fell in love with him then but had 2 other rabbits and was unable to bring home a third. When he was adopted I never forgot him and hoped he'd found a loving home. I was shocked and distressed when 2 years later he was brought back to the shelter by a landlord after his family had moved out and abandoned him in their apartment. He showed signs of neglect and my heart broke. This time he came home with me. Oreo became my Rio and is now 9 years old and the most loving rabbit. Every morning he greets me with snuggles and my heart melts all over again.
