Odin was living on the end of a chain in a junkyard in Chicago. Another dog in the junk yard was unchained and would attack Odin. That’s how he lost his eye. When the landlord of the junk yard found out what was happening, he had the dogs removed and shut down the yard. Odin was rescued by ALIVE rescue in Chicago, who gave him his current name, while also starting a #winkforodin hashtag to help get him adopted, as he wasn’t dog friendly and therefore a more difficult candidate for adoption. In 2017, we offered to foster him,and when we went to meet him he came up to us and rolled, head first, into my fiancé’s lap, and his smile was huge . We fell in love with his personality and resiliency and he’s been by our side (or in our laps) ever since.
