Bear Collins is a fluffy, fun loving almost 5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog who is certified with P.A.L.S. (People Animals Love) for dog therapy. Bear has been making people smile and spreading joy throughout Arlington and Washington,D.C. for 2 years. He is a weekly visitor to George Washington University Hospital, comforting all types of patients and relieving stress among the doctors and nurses who provide plenty of belly rubs, head massages and "Bear" hugs He will gladly find space for his burly 100 lb body on a patient's narrow twin bed to offer support to those he senses really need it. Bear also visits elementary schools and summer camps in lower income neighborhoods and participated in the Paws to Reading program at Falls Church Library. He is a busy bear and loves his job, his family and running in Potomac Overlook Park!
