Hi. I’m Bear AKA Slim Jim. Mom and Dad adopted me from AWLA in November of 2019. I was about 2 years old and had been living life on the run. My big brother Jared thought Bear was a better fit for me than the name the shelter gave me, Slim Jim. The name Bear might have something to do with my big head. They’ve now learned my big head houses my super big brain, because I’m so smart I get anything I want. It’s also clear I made a big impression on my first family at AWLA, because just the other day I walked Mom down to the shelter and was staring in the door when this really nice lady came out and said, “oh, is that SlimJim?” I walk my parents down there every once in a while just to remind them that if they don’t continue to spoil me I might have to go back. I chose this photo of my handsome self working remotely due to COVID. See, I really am smart!
