Story/Message
Since the Festival is virtual this year, it was the perfect opportunity to create a "tree" that would not necessarily work at our typical in-person festivals. This piece is roughly 24"x 36" accomplished with multi-media using labels, scrapbook paper, and a wrapping paper background in a standard artwork frame. The Nepali flag is on top because it is the only flag that is naturally vertical and it looked like a perfect topper to the tree (and it is also like the top of Mt. Everest with the stair-stepped countries below). The rest of the countries are in alphabetical order.

Ultimately, I wanted to reflect that we're one big world, all united, and we'll get through this COVID pandemic together.

As a Festival Leadership Board member, should I win a prize, I will donate that money back to Ann's Place.
