My Pet's Story
Jewel came from Nassau, Bahamas. She was hit by a car and was temporarily paralyzed and lost some teeth. Her owner was trying to poison her because she was no longer any good to them. Chella Phillips. who has a local rescue there, took her in & rehabilitated her. She came on an airlift in 2021. She was with a foster for several months because she was very aloof and missing teeth (so not so beautiful) and also needed heartworm treatment. Our girl, Chelsea, who is an APR alum, met her and decided she was meant to be her sister! They have been best buddies ever since!
