Bear was known as "The Forgotten Puppy" at St. Landry Parish Animal Shelter. He was overlooked time and again and was scheduled for euthanasia when I wrote the story about him after volunteering there. A photographer came in and took pictures of all of the available dogs ready for adoption and when she put away her camera and began to leave I asked, "did you get a picture of Bear?" She said no, she had not seen him. He was sitting right in front by the kennel gate, overlooked by the happy playful puppies all around. He was just sitting there, very quiet like. After writing about his story that night, he was adopted, then given up to another home shortly after, and about two months later he was going to be returned to the shelter. I was contacted and went and picked him up. He is my Bear!
