Animal’s Story
Mia’s left front leg was severely chewed at birth by her mother, necessitating amputation. The breeder felt he could not sell a “damaged” puppy so he removed Mia from her mother & litter mates at 8 weeks of age. He had a friend display the puppy at her grooming salon with a sign that said
“Free puppy with kennel”. A friend saw Mia and sent us her photo. Fearing the puppy might be euthanized if she wasn’t adopted quickly, we rushed to the salon and brought her home that day. We watched in amazement as Mia learned to walk, run and navigate stairs. For her first Xmas, our groomer suggested we color her ears & tail in holiday colors. The response was so positive, we kept it going and Mia has been pink ever since! Mia’s inspirational life lesson: living with a disability doesn’t have to disable your life!
