Chester (or Lady Chester as my Mother calls her) was found on the street one evening 2014. A man walking in front of me noticed the cat and said it looked like his son’s cat. He called to it, “Snake!” Nope, not his cat. He asked if it was my cat. Nope, not my cat. As we walked, a man with a Rottweiler headed towards us. Chester looked at the dog, then at me, and that was it. I decided to try and pick her up - and she let me! (Many people dump their pets in the woods next to my apartment. Most won’t let you near them.) Turned out she was extremely sick. But after a year of lots of love and care (and quarantine from our other cat Augie) she proved to be our miracle cat and has been part of the family now for 9 years!
