Animal’s Story
We adopted Chase (then Mendel) from ARF on September 25, 2015 when he was approx. 1 year old. Nearly 8 years later we continue to love him more every day. He is so loving, affectionate, friendly and silly! About 2 years ago, we noticed his eye looked cloudy and it got worse and worse, followed by the second eye. Within a year Chase went completely blind due to an incurable genetic condition - progressive retinol atrophy - but he has no pain and has adjusted well to losing sight. He gets himself around our house with ease as long as he takes his time, and loves his daily walks on the same loop. New situations and places are tough though, so we generally avoid them. Overall, Chase is a happy guy loved by his family beyond measure!
