Pet's Story or BioThis is Tucker contemplating his first ever snow here in Idyllwild. It only took a few more minutes and he ventured forth to leave his pawprints as a mark of his courage to face new situations.
Tucker was rescued seven years ago from a high-kill shelter by Westside German Shepherd Rescue Society in Los Angeles. He was only hours from his end but a caring shelter staff phoned the rescue society who sent someone in the middle of the night to get him out.
I adopted him 5 days later. He was only about two years old, skinny, missing about a third of his tail and scarred from who knows what. He was bewildered and scared. (Watching him trying to figure out how to navigate the stairs in our home was endearing).
Through the last seven years he has become the best pal and a gentle, loving dog. He is watchful and always at my side but loves people. He has learned how to communicate with humans to make his needs known and loves a great rousing came of fetch.
Plus, he is a really handsome fellow. When we go for walks everyone remarks on his debonair good looks. But he retains the nobility of his breed and never lets these compliments go to his head.
I can truly say that I love this dog.
Please help support ARF's magnificent work on the Hill with donations/votes for any of these great dogs!
