Pet's Story or BioToby was one of a litter of six that was born in a small shed behind my neighbor's vacant house. Out of nowhere, one day his mother came to my door to be fed. Ravenous and obviously nursing, I fed her and tried to follow her to see where her kittens might be hidden. I was unsuccessful. She returned morning and night for several days and would never lead me back to her kittens. One morning I followed her next door and was determined to wait her out. Sitting on my neighbors back porch, I gazed toward their shed and very briefly saw an orange object pass by a crack in the shed's rickety door. About four weeks old, I took them in and found good homes for all of them including the mother. I just couldn't let go of Toby. He is still with me. He enjoys being carried around on my shoulders. And his favorite activity is to fetch any wad of paper that you will throw for him. He brings it back and lays it right in my lap to be thrown again.
