Max had an exciting year last year! As the 1st place winner of the ARF Pet of the Year (dog category) award, not only did he get really cool prizes but he got to ride in the ARF float at the Idyllwild 4th of July parade. Max relinquished one of his prizes - a drink named after the winner at Cafe Aroma - to his best buddy Stoli, who came in a really close second. I hope you all enjoyed the Stoli Ginberry Fizz last year!

Max is super excited to participate in this year's contest. Last year he was able to raise over $600 for this special fundraiser and this year he has set his sights on $1000. As you know, every dime of this fundraiser goes to helping local low income families’ care for their pets. And we all know the critical role pets play in all our lives.

Now, a little about Max. He's a rescue from Living Free, adopted by his mother and father human two and a half years ago. His DNA test says he's a Boxer, Mastiff, Husky, question mark. For those who know him this means he's a 70 pound lap dog. If you meet us out walking don't be surprised if he doesn't give you a big slurpy kiss, as he thinks all humans (and dogs) should love him.

Max is a great reminder to all of us that when you "adopt" and don't "shop" you not only saving a life, you just might get the best friend you've ever had. He certainly has made a positive difference in our lives and don’t know what we’d do without him!
