Pet's Story or BioHi. My name is Greta and I am new to Idyllwild. I grew up in the desert where I was an only dog with a single parent who became too elderly to care for me. He took me to Animal Samaritans in Thousand Palms. Don't get me wrong, Animal Samaritans, like ARF is a fine, worthy place and provides the best service, but I did not like it! I did not belong there! I 'm really smart, hard working, and and I have a very pretty coat. I grew it myself! I had no idea I was going to be left there and was a very painful time. I felt abandoned, I don't understand aging. I wanted to go home, and all I could do was stand at the gate waiting for my dad. He never came back, but two guys kept coming to visit me even though I could not relax enough for them to pet or walk me. They brought me up the Hill after I passed my physical exams. I'm sill adjusting. I like my new home and my dads. I cannot spend enough time with them. I am a working dog. I love being busy and I love chasing squirrels. I'm really awake-I love exploring EVERYTHING. I think my dads don't understand and now I am trying to teach them. I recently enrolled myself into a training program so they learn how to really know who I am. They give me really good treats everytime they see how I can really be. I love to work and to protect. I will do anything to protect my home and my dads. They mean everything to me. I am running for Dog of the Year because I know how important ARF is for my new community and for my sisters and brothers and all living creatures. I don't care if I win, but I would appreciate any donations your could make in my name. I will protect you too.
Much love, Greta
