Pet's Story or BioOscar came to us 4th of July weekend 2020, when we responded to an ARF ad for kittens. The kids and I were overwhelmed by all the cuteness, while my husband sat back with a kitty companion, watching the mayhem. I couldn’t decide so my husband declared that the cool cat who had kept him company would be ours. We brought him home, and it’s like he’s always been here. Oscar is so patient and tolerant with my kids (3 and 5). He knows to be gentle with them and lets them drag him around the house at playtime, he curls up on the rug with them for reading time and he snuggles up to them for warmth at nap time. He wanders around our property with them, always staying close by and always coming home when we call. Oscar has also proven himself to be a most effective emotional support companion for me when my husband is deployed for months at a time, or just whenever my kids are too much. I can bury my face in his belly fluff and he takes it all away with his massive purr and kitty kisses. He is always so willing to shoulder the weight of my stressed out anxious heavy hand and quietly keep me company in the middle of the night. Oscar takes care of us with love and dignity and clumsy kitty antics. We call him our saber toothed house cat because he’s the size of a 4 yr old, but his heart- and the place he holds in ours- is much much more.
