Pet's Story or Bio
He came to us with an ear infection, a facial twitch, and a turned-out
foot...the infection is long gone, the twitch has diminished, but the
"funny foot" will be his forever. Did we take him home in spite of
these prolems, or because of them? Freddie needed us, and in the 4
months we've been together, he's wriggled his way into our hearts and
helped heal the abyss of losing our beloved Tycho last summer. In my
life with dogs I contend this is the only consolation after their
too-short lifespan. The chance to know and love another dog, with all
they have to teach us, may be the silver lining that so many people
overlook while hunting for gold.
Freddie is about two years old, earnest yet sometimes clueless, like his
namesake from "My Fair Lady" - he loves to chase balls, but is totally
inept at catching. He sometimes has trouble following its bouncy path,
but is very fast on his feet, and spins and jumps up when the ball goes
down, and vice versa. I guess that makes him the perfect "Cartoon Dog"
- and guess what? I'm a cartoonist!
Matching a dog with a forever home - complete with snuggles and snacks -
