Pet's Story or Bio
Penelope who we mostly call Penny or Penpen, had a hard start to life. She was purchased as a pet for a family, but unfortunately they did not receive good information on how to take care of a guinea pig. They unknowingly got her the wrong type of cage which resulted in a broken leg. She was really young and that prompted her to be terrified of humans. During her time in quarantine she contracted ring worm. She was just a baby, not even a year old yet, and she had all these things already against her. When we rescued her, she had still been on medication for ring worm and with my experience in animal medication, I was about to nurse her back to health. She is very fearful to this day of people, but she has gotten more and more comfortable with us. This is Penelope’s story. Her beginning wasn’t what it should have been, but she’s now a spoiled little one that gets plenty of love.
