Pet's Story or Bio
My name is Ringo. I am an American Rough Collie. However, I am very gentle. (This is confidential. Please do not share this with the coyotes in the neighborhood.)
I have lived in Idyllwild since I was a puppy. I love the mountain, especially the snowy weather. My human calls it “collie-weather”. Sadly, there has not been much collie-weather this year.
I am not a big fan of hiking as so many are up here. Apparently, I am much smarter than hikers. If I am already at point A, why not just stay here? Why hike to point B and back, just to end up where I started, at point A?
I am, however, the quintessential neighborhood guard dog, not just another pretty fur-face. Let me explain. Although some of my neighbors may not understand my guarding style, it is both vigilant and adaptable for the protection of my neighborhood "flock". My ability to distinguish between kids on bikes and menacing coyotes is clearly communicated by the tone of my bark. Every bark is intentional, rather than meaningless noise. I like to think of myself as a blend of beauty and protective precision. I wish more people had an appreciation of this.
Alas, most are very tolerant of me anyway, and many are my friends! I love them all.
