I’ve been owned by 11 rescue cats over the years - and have deserved every one. There is nothing more endearing than the look in their eyes when they have been removed from a sad or dangerous situation and placed in (my) loving arms for the first time. I have contributed to the care & upkeep of all the little ones at ARLNH for
many years and appreciate their dedication to each.

Tell us what makes your pet better than all the rest!
Tibby bonded with me instantly! We communicate with specific cat vocalizations and are continuing to learn the meaning behind each other’s sounds . When still a kitten, she dropped her string-ball at my feet inviting me to fully engage with her. That fetch game evolved into stair-ball “bouncy-bouncy”, hide and seek while I’m showering, and extending her paws when I’m trimming my nails. She sits in the MIDDLE of the action in the kitchen when I’m cooking and watches every move. When she wants a ride, Tibby will jump into a special basket and announce her wish. Her second most favorite human, my husband, will dutifully carry her around the house. Tibby ensures that I know where the bathroom is, no matter the hour, where and when her plate needs refilling and when the bird feeder is being visited. She finds fireworks “interesting” and watches from the window as they fly into the sky. She is a proactive little being who reaches out to engage with us, rather than just laying back to be adored (though let’s face it — she is!
