"Ostrich Eggs" happily laid at 3RR, uniquely crafted

I had planned to create a very different type of work but.... It so happened that on election night my egg took a tumble off the table for reasons unknown. I wasn't even near and just heard the impact. I thought it was over, but then the muse kissed me again and I took the pieces and mounted them on a wood panel. With more resin, some dye, and growing excitement for this piece it was finally done. I found the timing interesting and felt that the egg just wanted to make a different kind of statement.
Bio"From her early life in Germany until today, Bea is in her element when she can create. She spent her childhood in Aschaffenburg, Germany and moved to the United States more than 20 years ago to be with the American part of her family, and thus a new epic adventure began.
Looking at almost everything as a potential art supply, her work is never purely traditional, but a quest to cross limits and to explore the boundaries of materials and her own imagination. She works in many media from classic drawing, painting, and pyrography to an alchemy of mixed media, wood, resin, metal and even egg-shells. Bea had a formal training of fine arts and art history in Germany and is still expanding her artistic horizon and skill by keeping her curiosity alive and working every day in her Kailua Kona studio. Her work can currently be seen at Kona Oceanfront Gallery in Kailua Kona and One Gallery in Hilo.
