"Ostrich Eggs" happily laid at 3RR, uniquely crafted
Description"My painted egg reveals some of the things I love about my home in Hawaii. Sunsets and sunrises, ocean waves, and (watching) surfing! This 360 degree scene depicts our humpback whales, spinner dolphins and of course, the GOAT. Which professional surfer is the GOAT? Well, I have my opinion... what is yours?
Painted with acrylic and sealed with a soft varnish. (Sorry, lava rock NOT included)
BioPrior to 2005, my artistic endeavors were very physical activities such as springboard diving, garden design, ballet and teaching creative dance to preschoolers. When I came down with a debilitating chronic illness, I was determined not to let it ruin my life, so I turned to watercolor painting - something I had long desired to try.
I love the dance that occurs between water and pigment and find every painting an adventure, now painting in a variety of media. The best art touches my heart and makes me 'feel' something. I am an expressionist painter, attempting to draw the viewer into the feelings of life - especially nature - around me. Sometimes my paintings are jubilant, joyful, colorful - expressing how I see the world. Other times, they are filled with light and dark, revealing my belief that light will shine again, even in the dark places. Some are soft and contemplative because I also have a pensive side that enjoys the stillness and quietness of the environment around me. Through them all, I hope to draw the viewer closer to The Creator of all beauty."
