Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)My primary submission is my original song which I also sang, played, and produced. The dandelion drawing represents the song.
Life after my son’s brain tumor got harder but it only made life feel more precious than ever. This song’s message was conceived from the anxiety, longing, regrets and other feelings that sometimes occupy my mind and take me away from living in the present. I believe that all we have is the present moment and that our ever present breath is a reminder of appreciating life, in all of its temporary moments.
Bio (include your age, tumor type and date of diagnosis)My son was diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma when he was eight years old. He is 19 today. I have been very involved in his care and with advocacy on his behalf. I am on the board of the Raymond A. Wood Foundation.
