"dream coral reef" is one of the artworks I created last summer during a six week long local art intensive. It started off with me just messing around with vibrant watercolors, but quickly became a detailed seascape mixed with fantastical elements. The ink drawing took me over 30 hours to do, but I loved every moment of the process!

Hi! I'm Katarina Love, a 16 year old artist and brain tumor THRIVER living in Charlottesville, Virginia. I was diagnosed with a low-grade ganglioglioma in March 2017. I had brain surgery on Saint Patrick's day to save my life and have been pretty lucky in my brain tumor journey since then! Being able to use art as a creative outlet and as a way of emotionally healing has been crucial for me. I love every second I send creating art, whether that be oil painting for local exhibitions or peacefully drawing in my room. I hope that my deep love for art is evident in my work, and that my audience is able to take away their own joy by seeing my art.
