Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)I used CapCut, pictures from the time when it happened and soundtrap for the music. To me, my project shows how I’ve grown, everything I’ve gone through, my strength and that of those around me.
Artist Bio: Tell Us Your StoryMy mom, my sister and I were on a trip to Newfoundland, I wasn’t being myself a little while before and during the trip. The night before the plane home, going up to the hotel room to sleep the very night before the morning plane. I had a seizure in the elevator, got admitted to the janeway hospital, three days later I was diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma with a large cyst the size of a golf ball, I had a vp shunt insertion, a septostomy, a vp shunt revision, omaya insertion. I then got medevac-ed to Toronto’s SickKids where I had the omaya removed, then the vp shunt removal, craniotomy to remove the large cyst and lastly a second craniotomy to remove the pituitary stalk. I then did biofeedback to improve the peripheral vision affected by a cyst that was pressing on an optic nerve, it was also slightly damaged due to surgery. I was then chosen by make a wish to have a wish of mine granted for me, so this summer my family and me will be going to Costa Rica, and I have also been chosen to receive a « tree of joy » from the make a wish team, a personalized tree that will be delivered to the house. Many exciting things about to unfold, that being said, there are still challenges ahead, but I, we will prevail together as a a community of family, friends, family friends and more.
