Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)
This piece is a Rubik’s Cube mosaic. It is art made out of the hundreds of Rubik’s Cubes to form a picture. This is a picture of a brain I made of 400 individual Rubik’s Cubes. Each is solved individually with a specific pattern to create the image.

I hope this piece inspires others to try new things and find what fits you the best. For me, it was cubing, and I would have never guessed that in a million years. We all thrive at our own things. What’s your thing?

Artist Bio: Tell Us Your Story
I had a brain tumor when only 11 year old. Since then, I’ve been fascinated with 3D puzzles. Cubing for me is a great hobby that I have been able to partake in. I’ve met many amazing people and have even gotten the opportunity to show off my skills at speed solving competitions. This piece means a lot to me, because it articulates the many challenges that people who have had brain tumors face, but also the many ways that we can find to help improve our lives. For me, cubing was one of the many possibilities that I chose to make my life better post surgery.
