Community Guidelines

Raymond A. Wood Foundation Community Guidelines

At the Raymond A. Wood Foundation, we are committed to fostering a community rooted in respect, kindness, and shared humanity. We know that this journey—living with or caring for someone with a hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumor—is deeply personal and often incredibly difficult. Many in our community live with invisible injuries that can affect communication, mood, and behavior. We hold space for that.

At the same time, we ask all members of our community to approach each other—and our team—with decency, empathy, and common courtesy.

  • Respect and kindness are key: Treat all members of our community, including staff, volunteers, and fellow survivors, with decency and common courtesy.

  • We are all imperfect: As a team, we’re doing our best to serve a complex, global community. We acknowledge we can always improve and are open to feedback.

  • Constructive feedback is welcome: We appreciate and encourage suggestions for improvement but ask that they be shared respectfully. Name-calling or personal attacks are never acceptable.

  • Understanding is important: Many in our community may experience brain injuries or health challenges that impact communication and behavior. Please approach others with empathy and patience.

  • Our space is for support and healing: Let’s work together to keep this a positive, welcoming environment for everyone.

Art of Surviving Exhibition Guidelines

  • Purpose: The Art of Surviving exhibition is focused on advocacy awareness for survivors of hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumors. It is also a fundraiser to support our ongoing work at the Raymond A. Wood Foundation.

  • Fundraising: While participants are welcome not to fundraise, please note that prizes are awarded based on both artistic submissions and fundraising efforts. We appreciate everyone's contributions to both raising awareness and supporting our mission financially.

  • Mutual Respect: Whether or not you choose to fundraise, we ask for respect and understanding in how we structure this event. The goal is to support the work we do and the community we serve.

Thank you for being part of our community! Questions or concerns can be directed to outreach@rawoodfoundation.org.
