Entrant's First Name
My story continues, many of you may know me as the puppy who was rescued from a burning house by the Asheville Firefighter. I spent many months recovering from thermal burns over 75% of my body. To learn more: https://www.ahna.net/blog/video-hex-amazing-puppy. This was the beginning of my story but not the definition of my life.
I was originally adopted from a Jack Russell breeder, but as you can see I am a mix of a couple different things. I am part domestic short hair (DSH) feline even though my brother, Orly, also a DSH, refuses to acknowledge it! But how else I am able to walk across the back of the couch like a ninja cat?! I am able to use my front paws when we box. Orly plays the "bop my head game" all the time! And I am a master at chasing the "red dot". My dog sister, Dutchess, does not know how to do any of this.
I am part goat. I enjoy eating everything. There is nothing like a day of grazing grass in the sun. Did you know goats are part engineers? I love to take things apart to see how they work. Unfortunately, I do not know how to put them back together. I love to climb the mountains, so I must be a mountain goat! My BFF, BB is part mountain goat too! She was also a burn survivor as a puppy. She taught me how to climb rocks! She is helping raise money for AHS too. You can vote for her at: https://www.gogophotocontest.com/ashevillehumane/entries/119970
I am also part mermaid! I love the water. I love to swim and dive off docks. I also like to swim deep down in the river to pick up sticks and rocks. I might be part dolphin too. I have started to compete in dock diving competitions and love! It is one of my most favorite things to do in life.
Anyone who has seen me at a competition can tell you I am part screaming Wookie! I love life and love to let everyone know!
The best of all, I am part snuggle bug. I live my life to the fullest. I was given a chance at life by the caring people at Asheville Humane Society who took a chance on a critical puppy who was abandoned, along with the doctors and staff at REACH and the Animal Hospital of North Asheville who took care of me during my recovery!
There are many cats and dogs that had a rough start in life like me, whether they have minor to severe medical issues, homeless, or in need of time to heal from emotional wounds that could use your donations. Please consider helping me raise money to help support Asheville Humane Society so animals like me can have a chance at the best life!
