Entrant's First Name
This is the amazing BB! She also goes by BB8, Mountain Goat, Piglet, Wookie (she does a great impression!), Snuggle Bug, Wonder Woman, and many others!
BB was rescued from a house fire at only 2 months old. Suddenly orphaned and burned on over 80% of her body, AHS stepped in and took a chance on this critical puppy and I am so thankful they did!
After her initial assessment at REACH, she was brought to Animal Hospital of North Asheville where she underwent months of critical care for her extensive burns. Her quality of life was assessed daily and every time it was in question she let us know with wagging tail and puppy kisses that she was a fighter and not ready to give up!
I am truly grateful she didn’t! Her zest for life was apparent every time I brought her home from the hospital on weekends. She didn’t let her injuries hold her back from playing with toys, gentle romps in the yard, and snuggles on the couch with as many humans or dogs that she could. My other two pups accepted her instantly, as did my husband who has always been a trooper when I bring home random animals - a casualty of being a vet techs’ husband. We have had many fosters come and go but BB was different. By the time she was healed and ready for adoption, she had already become a part of our family. We couldn’t imagine our lives without her!
I am so thankful for everyone from firefighters to veterinarians to support staff and everyone in between for not giving up on this special girl. I am so glad to have had the chance to watch her grow and mature from that critical puppy into the beautiful dog she is today, a year later. She is such a loving, goofy, happy-go-lucky girl who brings joy and laughter to our lives every day. No matter how difficult my day has been, she never fails to boost my mood with her silly pitty antics. She is my co-pilot, my partner in crime, my shadow, my droid, my Wonder Woman!
Any contribution to this fundraiser will go towards providing animals like BB with the care they need so they, too, can find their own loving, forever homes! Please consider donating to this great cause, every dollar helps!
