Pet's Story
Knock, knock, knock! Hey, it's me, Stella. Mom said I should ask you to vote for me so we can help other animals. Sounds like an awesome plan! I live a happy, carefree life now, but it didn't start out that way. When I was just a teeny baby of about 4 weeks, I saw my brother get attacked by a raccoon while I hid in the bushes. I was so, so scared! Then the nice person who lived by the bushes found me and called the animal control lady who saved me. She took me to Asheville Humane Society. My brother didn't make it, so I was all alone and scared. Mallory took good care of me in the medical department, even though I hissed a lot. She took me home with her and watched me all night to make sure I was ok. The next day, Jessica, became what they called a foster mom. I loved her and all her kitties! They were so patient with me while I learned it was ok to trust and that I was safe.

Meanwhile my forever mom and dad were so sad that their sweet girl, Harlo, unexpectedly passed away. Dexter, her BFF, was inconsolable (mom helped me with that word). He cried and cried for weeks. His heart was broken. Dad saw the cute (of course!) pictures of me that foster mom was posting and I reminded him of Bud, a cat he had many years ago and loved bunches. Dad thought maybe Dexter could use a friend so he wouldn't be so lonely and sad?? He said I should be the one and they would name me Stella...the rest is history! Dexter isn't lonely any more (although sometimes he wishes I would stop jumping on his head).

Now I have gotten bigger, and Dexter can be a grumpy old man who doesn’t play as much as I do, mom said I will have another friend from AHS very soon. She says he will be able to "hold his own with me"….whatever that means. I’m just getting all the toys ready to greet my new brother. Life is good….maybe you can help a kitty (or doggy) who is hoping for a good life too? Please vote for me and help make their dreams come true! Love & Purrs, Stella
