Axel came to me when I needed him most. I was living in an apartment, away from loved ones, and coming home to an empty home. Turns out he too was far from home (Birmingham, Alabama) and was recently brought in for adoption.

When I went to visit the Humane Shelter it took only a few minutes before we found each other. With a smile on his face, he was jumping up and down against the concrete wall -- I'm certain trying to get my attention! Once we were alone in the "Meet & Greet" area I was informed that all adoptions were free that day thanks to the generosity of a donor. And like that... we were headed home!
