Macy Bear, a Beagle/Bassett/American Bulldog mix, was adopted from a local rescue when she was 4 months old. Over the past 7 years, Macy has taken care of me, her proud "Mom," loving and playing, comforting and protecting, and teaching me life lessons like "Wag More, Bark Less". She even won the heart of her "Grandpa," who previously was not an animal person, but now loves his "Granddog" Macy dearly. She is very smart and perceptive. Macy does not "shake", but instead will "give you 5." A precious moment was the last time she visited her "Great-Grandpa" in the nursing home before he passed away. As we were leaving, he asked her to give him five. Not only did she do so, but she also carefully licked (kissed) his hand, sensing that was the last time we would see "Great-Grandpa" before he went to Heaven.
Macy makes friends wherever she goes - both of the human and animal variety! Her energy and enthusiasm for life is infectious, and brightens many lives. Aside from being an extremely cute dog with mannerisms that make you laugh, Macy Bear is my best friend!
