SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY

To submit your pet’s photo, a minimum $25 donation is required. This amount will enter you into the contest.
Entries are limited to one photo per entry fee and must be submitted online. You may submit as many entries as you like.
Once entered, all photos become the property of the Atlanta Humane Society and can be used, edited, or modified for print or marketing purposes.
To submit a photograph online, click on the Participate tab above and follow the directions to upload a photograph of your pet. Online entries must be submitted by Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:00 P.M. EST.
To submit a photograph by mail, please mail your entries to Atlanta Humane Society, Attn: Calendar Photo Contest, 981 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Mailed entries must be received by Thursday, May 18, 2017 7:00 P.M. EST
To submit a photograph by hand, please deliver your entry to the Atlanta Humane Society's Howell Mill Campus at 981 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 during regular business hours. Hand deliveries must be received by 7:00 P.M. EST. on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate as determined by the staff of the Atlanta Humane Society will be removed from the photo contest.
Donations are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. The Atlanta Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All entrants will receive receipts for their contributions.

Photo Requirements

All entries must be in color and contain only pets.
Acceptable formats are .jpg, .bmp, .png and .tiff. Photos sent by mail must be no larger than 4"x6"
If your entry was taken by a commercial studio, please include a signed copyright release from the photographer with your entry.
Dogs and cats not wearing collars or ID tags may be ruled ineligible for calendar placement.
Your pet does not have to be adopted from AHS to be eligible to enter this contest.
All photos must be submitted by the photographer who took the photo. Photos with copyrights must receive the express consent of the owner of the copyright for usage rights in the AHS pet photo contest.
If photos include pets not owed by the person entering the photo, the entrant must receive written permission from the pet’s owner for usage in the contest.
If photographs contain people or content that is deemed inappropriate as determined by the staff of the Atlanta Humane Society, it will be removed from the Calendar Photo Contest.

Contest Voting

Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online photo contest gallery and be open to voting by the general public.
Each $1 donated to a pet’s campaign represents one vote.
Due to processing costs, a minimum $5 donation is required.
All donations are tax-deductible by law.
All donations to the photo contest are final.
All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
To vote online, click the Participate tab above. The online voting will end at 10 P.M. EST on Thursday, May 18, 2017. You will need to donate a minimum of $5 for five votes. These votes can be cast for any submitted photo in one-vote increments. Voters do not have to use all votes at the time of donation. When voters donate, they will be given the option of applying all the votes to one photo, spreading their votes over various photos or storing votes in their account. If a voter chooses to store the votes, voter can log in to their account using their ID and password and vote at a later time. All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted. To vote by mail, please send a check made out to the Atlanta Humane Society to Atlanta Humane Society, Attn: Calendar Photo Contest, 981 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 with your name, address, and phone number as well as the pet and entrants name and your written request to apply the donation towards votes in the 2017 Photo Fundraiser. To vote by phone with a credit card, please call 404-974-2819. Votes must be received no later than 5:00 P.M. EST on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
Ending time for the Calendar Photo Contest will be determined by the host website's server which will be shown prominently on the Photo Contest website as a countdown clock on May 18, 2017.
An email address is required to make an online donation so a receipt with tax information can be sent to the donor. If you would not like to receive AHS news and solicitations via email in the future, there is a checkbox that you can un-check at the time of your donation.

Contest Deadlines

The first 200 entries in the contest will be included in the AHS 2018 Pet Calendar at no extra charge.
The top 4 entries at 10:00 P.M. EST on Thursday, May 18, 2017 will receive coveted pet of the month features in the AHS calendar.
Online entries and votes must be submitted before 10:00:00 PM EST on Thursday, May 18, 2017.

Contest Winners

Contest winners will need to re-submit their photo to Atlanta Humane Society as a high resolution, print quality image. Winners will be notified where to send photos. If the photograph is not high resolution for print, the Atlanta Humane Society will schedule a time to retake the photograph of the animal who is featured in the winning photo.
Prize announcements will be revealed on the contest homepage with one week of the contest end-date.
The remaining 8 pet of the month features will be chosen by AHS staff.

Prizes for top votes

1st Place: Your pet will receive a photo shoot for their "Pet of the Month" spot which will be included in one of the calendar pages of the AHS 2018 calendar, and you will receive a 6-month supply of Purina ONE Pet Food, a prize pack courtesy of HEARTGARD and FRONTLINE, and 4 free AHS 2018 Calendars.
2nd Place: Your pet's photograph will be included in a premier "Pet of the Month" spot on one of the calendar pages of the AHS 2018 Calendar, and you will receive a prize pack courtesy of HEARTGARD and FRONTLINE and 3 free AHS 2018 Calendars.
3rd Place: Your pet's photograph will be included in a premier "Pet of the Month" spot on one of the calendar pages of the AHS 2018 Calendar, and you will receive a prize pack courtesy of HEARTGARD and FRONTLINE and 2 free AHS 2018 Calendars
4th Place: Your pet's photograph will be included in a premier "Pet of the Month" spot on one of the calendar pages of the AHS 2018 Calendar and you will receive 2 free AHS 2018 Calendars.
The first 200 entrants will receive collage placements in the 2018 AHS Pet Calendar.
