Maisy's life was a little rough in the beginning. She was originally adopted as a 6 month old puppy from the Humane society but then returned 8 years later. Specifically looking for a senior dog to be a companion while I started grad school, I adopted Maisy at the age of 8. In the beginning, she was heartworm positive, aggressive with other dogs, and generally afraid of everything. She has since grown into a lover of walks, big sister to a rambunctious lab, always-needing-to-be-touching cuddler, and chipmuck chaser! She is 12 years old now and has found joy in neighborhood walks and peanut butter. On a sunny day, she loves nothing more than laying in the grass in the backyard or digging in the mud while wandering the local creek. She is a fantastic addition to our family and we are so lucky for all the work that the humane society does in allowing dogs like Maisy to find their new forever homes.
